Bamboo is the largest member of the grass family and also one of the fastest growing plants in the world. Certain Bamboo species can grow at a speed of 3 cms per hour! Bamboos can grow as tall as 100 feet in height and 2 feet diameter. Bamboos are widely used to make houses, mats, baskets, flutes, paper and the tender shoots are even eaten or pickled.
